Well 2005 मैं Information Technology के द्वारा Local और Metropolitan Area के लिए IEEE standard ( Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ) को बनाया गया हैं. जिसमे 802.15.1 Frequency Band के part 15.1a को Wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) OR Physical Layer (PHY) के लिए Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN) को बनाया हैं.
इसकी Range लगभग 30 फीट (10 मीटर ) तक के signals Distance को cover करती हैं. यह device में Low cost वाले Hardware Chip के द्वारा Transmitter or Receiver के Single Packages को Achieve किया जाता हैं.
ये 2.45GHz Frequency Band के तीन Voice Channels को 721 Kbps Data rate से भी ज्यादा support कर सकता है।
IEEE के द्वारा industrial, scientific, medical branches के लिए Device (1.0 frequency band) international agreements के द्वारा अलग से reserve रखा गया है।. जिसमें यह एक साथ 8 device को connect कर सकता है।. इसमें हर device को IEEE 802 standard के अंतर्गत 48 bit का unique address send करता है! जिसके connections point to point or multiple point हो सकता है।.
